Dot and Mae are excited because everyday brings spring a little closer! Oh sure, they know it’s still cold sometimes and winter isn’t completely over, but somedays the sun comes out and they can go outside and play for a little bit - and that’s WONDERFUL! What kinds of things do you like to do when the weather gets nice?

One thing Dot and Mae love to do is blow bubbles! This is a fun thing to do, and you can make the bubble solution for yourself. Dot and Mae would like to share a bubble recipe with you so you can blow some bubbles of your own!
Recipe #1
1/2 cup of dishwashing liquid (Dawn or Joy seems to work the best, but it’s your choice!)
2 cups of water
2 teaspoons of sugar
a dab of food coloring (for a colorful batch of BIGGER bubbles)
mix and place in a shallow pan (or refill your old bubble containers).

Recipe #2
1 gallon water
1/2 cup Dawn (or Joy) Dishwashing Liquid
1/4 cup glycerine (obtained from your local pharmacy)
For the bubble wands you can use wire twisted into a loop - or pipe cleaners. Flyswatters even work to make lots of tiny bubbles! The ones in the pictures were made with wooden dowels and then wire was twisted around the handles and hot-glued. You can add butterflies or ribbons or bows to whatever you like to dress up your wands. You could even make them to give away as a gift!

It helps to let the let the mixture sit overnight or longer if you can!
Have FUN!
