The Adventures of Dot and Mae

Dear Readers, today Dot and Mae are having a very fun time! One of Dot and Mae’s favorite things to do is to play dress up and use their imagination to create exciting adventures. Sometimes when they dress up they pretend they are princesses and they are going to a fancy ball. Other times when they dress up they pretend to be pirates and they are searching for treasure. When they play Treasure Hunt, their good friend Tipsy the dog likes to play because he always wants to be the one to dig for the treasure when the girls have found the hiding place. It’s a great time for everyone. Dot and Mae have a box of old clothes and scraps of material they use when they play dress up and they also like to look around and find little things to add to their box from time to time. They also have face paint so they can draw on little mustaches and beards when they are pirates, or make their faces very colorful and sparkly if they are playing something like “magical fairies.” If you like, Dot and Mae will imagine you playing with them next time they play dress up so you can have a fun time as well!

Here are Dot and Mae with some treasure. They found the pearls in a cave under the ocean where mermaids were being held captive by evil manta ray men. Dot and Mae rescued the mermaids, and to thank them the mermaids gave Dot and Mae a string of giant pearls and a seashell lined with gold to keep the pearls in. The giant seashell is also magical and if Dot and Mae get inside of it, they can travel magically to the Mermaid kingdom whenever they want. The Mermaid kingdom is very beautiful, it’s made out of bright colored coral and abalone. The Mermaids are all very gentle and kind and they love to have visitors. If you want to go there, you just have to close your eyes and picture it - pretty cool, isn’t it? Dot and Mae just love it - it’s one of their favorite places to visit.
