Jumping rope is a fun activity that you can do alone or with your friends. It’s also really good exercise! Dot and Mae are using a ribbon to jump rope with because it’s very hard to find a jump rope that is small enough for them to use. Right now they need one of their friends to come along and start jumping!
Here are some rhymes you can use while jumping rope:

If the jumper “misses” on “pepper”, then the turners begin turning fast or doing “hot peppers”.

The children jump rope while they sing this rhyme, they act out the
actions as the words come up in the rhyme. An example: when they say go
upstairs, the child pretends to climb the stairs.
